“Fine. I won’t go to prison. I promise. I wouldn’t look good in an orange jump suite anyway…” Meg said, attempting to make a joke to try to lighten the mood, “I’ll always be here. I hope you know that. Because I love you. Er…both of you,” She said motioning to Sugar’s stomach. She leaned down to her, to kiss her gently. Sugar had to be scared. Meg couldn’t even imagine going through something like that.

“I like you just the way you are, no orange. I think if you went to prison, this would end up on Dr. Phil.” Sugar giggled, the only smile that left the girl’s face that day. She leaned in to Meg as she kissed her and pulled away slowly. Sugar just had to face reality, and this wouldn’t be hard, but she could definitely do it. She grabbed Meg’s hand in her own as she wrapped her in a tight hug and kissed her shoulder blade. “I need you.”

Meg let out a heavy sigh, “Fine…I’ll keep doing the play, but if you need me or you start getting morning sickness…I don’t care. I’m going to be here. I’m sure the director will understand. I already know all my lines and dances and all that,” she nodded. A slight case of curiosity hit her when she thought who her knew ‘love interest’ would be. It kind of made her nervous. Her brows furrowed. Sugar couldn’t get jealous over something like that right? But Sugar talking again pulled her back to reality, “Shaggy hair…” she nodded, “You’ll remember over time. And once we find him…I’ll let the police take care of it because I’ll end up in prison if you let me at him.”

“Good. I want you to keep doing what you love, okay. This is your career. You love this. I can’t ask you to do that.” Sugar looked over to Meg. “I don’t know if and when I’ll be able to tell anybody. You can tell your mom, but please can we try to keep it quiet for now, I have to find a way to put it all in words.” Sugar responded looking down at her stomach, “I have  a baby in there, wow.” Sugar said as she looked to Meg. “I will remember soon enough, but I can’t have you going to prison. I need you. We need you.” Sugar responded, another tear rolling down her cheek.

“I don’t know if I can do the show without you…you got me into it. I don’t want to kiss another girl,” Meg really wanted the role, but she had to make an excuse. She had to be with Sugar. Especially through this, “I’m never going to leave you okay? W-we’ll…we’ll get through this…I promise,” she nodded slowly as she went back over to the bed. This would definitely prove to be interesting. There shouldn’t be a dull moment. She just hoped Sugar would be okay, “We should get you to a doctor sometime this week…they can check you over…see if you caught anything. See if the asshole who did this is clean…” this was a tough subject, but it had to be dealt with. She would have to be an adult.

“I still want you to do it if you want to.” She looked up and nodded at Meg. “We will get through it. Together.” Sugar grabbed Meg’s hand. “I do need to get to the doctor, as soon as possible too.” Sugar responded, looking to Meg again. Sugar was so small, she didn’t even know if she could carry a whole baby inside of her. She would have to be calling her therapist again soon. “I want to find him, all I remember is that he kept looking at me, and he had shaggy hair. He looked familiar too, but I can’t put it together.”

Meg leaned against the door frame and thought for a minute, “No…no, this isn’t my decision…it shouldn’t me. I’m here to support your decision…” she blinked rapidly trying to think of something. Sugar’s life…was limited now. Tennis, Rent. Those things would probably have to stop, “I’ll um…I’ll call the coach tomorrow. I’ll quit cheer. I’ll have to tell the director that I’m out of the play…” she had to be there for Sugar. Maybe there was a local market she could work at. Work with her mom? Everything seemed to happen really fast, as her heart began to race. Was she going to be a mom? She had no idea what she was doing.

“I don’t want you to quit cheering, or the play. I want you to keep doing it. Don’t let this change everything for you too.” Sugar looked up at Meg. “I love you, and I don’t want you to stop doing what you love if you don’t have to. I don’t want you to regret these things because of me.” Sugar looked over at Meg again. “I don’t know how this is going to work.” She said, looking down at her engagement ring. “But it has to. You aren’t going to leave me, are you?”
